Panties!

thumb3 Panties!Boys, cover your eyes (or ears)… We’re talking about panties. For a limited time when you join Pink Nation, a site specifically designed for the Pink loungewear line at Victoria’s Secret, you’ll receive a printable coupon for 10 panties for $25. That is a phenomenal deal when you consider the best I’ve seen is $5 for $25 ($5 each). With this, they’re only $2.50!

Now before you click away, saying those little Pink panties are nothing but floss with a Pink logo on them, there’s hope! They’re not available online (or at least I’ve never found them), but in stores, check out the Pink panty table for either a Hipster, Bikini or Boyshort panty that’s 88% nylon/12% spandex. I’m partial to the Hipsters and Boyshorts that make even my Spongebob Squarebutt look cute. They wear well–much better than 100% cotton varieties–and wash well. They never fade and come in cute colors. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these panties.

Wanchai Ferry gods, are you listening?

Wanchai Ferry orange chicken1 Wanchai Ferry gods, are you listening? So embarrassed. Weeks and weeks ago, I fantastic package arrived at my door. A Wanchai Ferry Orange Chicken dinner kit, courtesy of MyBlogSpark. They’d asked me to try it with my family, offer my opinion and then host a giveaway for a fab Chinese dinner prize pack with authentic bowls, bamboo placemats, chopsticks and a coupon for a FREE Wanchai Ferry dinner kit of your choice. (click here to win the FatHeadDog giveaway)

Days and weeks went by.. never a good night to cook a home-cooked, albeit quick and tasty, meal for my family. Finally the night came–tonight–and my husband cooked it! Oh, the motherly shame. But as the designated eater, I say Wanchai Ferry Orange Chicken was mighty tasty. Fresh crunchy vegetables and perfect orange-glazed chicken over quick steam rice. Really fast and really good. I will say this, if the Wanchai Ferry gods are listening, the directions were a little complicated for someone who just got off work. And the steamed rice portion was a little small for the meal. But that’s all, so Mr. W. Ferry, don’t hold it against me.

Review: Insight Exchange Team

Insight Exchange 150x150 Review: Insight Exchange TeamLately I’ve been exploring paid and reward market research survey sites, and came across Insight Exchange Team by recommendation. I don’t post negative reviews that often, but Insight Exchange certainly disappointed.

Overview:
Receive 1 to10 points for every completed survey.
You can redeem 10 points to Plant a Tree or 65 points for a $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate.

My first red flag was the lack of compelling prizes. Planting a tree is a unique prize, but I was disappointed to see the only other prize was a $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate. Looks good on paper, but you’ll learn that restaurant.com is more like a coupon than a gift card. You have to purchase a minimum amount to use the certificate–for example, you can take $25 off a $50 meal. If you’re a frequent diner, that’s a great 50% off, but its not a good fit for my family.

My second and final red flag: I went to redeem my Plant a Tree certificate today and (insert Price is Right lose theme) it had already been redeemed by another user. That’s it; I’m out!

If you’ve had a similar experience, or if you’ve had a GREAT experience with Insight, I’d love to hear about it!

Enfamil $5 printable coupons are like gold

1216EnfamilPremium Large Enfamil $5 printable coupons are like goldWhen FatHeadPup made the switch from breastmilk to formula, I developed an important sixth sense–how to find formula for cheap. It started at the doctor’s office: Every pediatrician and ob/gyn appointment, I came with a mission–Formula samples or bust. I simply had to ask what formula samples they had, and they gladly handed over a can or two. Some generous nurses loaded me up one day on cans that were a few months from expiration, to ensure someone got to use them.

Once that well dried up, I perused my local Craig’s List. While there were many well-meaning moms that had Enfamil to trade for Similac, and vice versa, none of them were ever close enough to me to justify the trade. Good option, though. So, I enacted a local sort-of Craig’s List, where I networked with every friend I knew for possible trades–with great success. We traded formula brands, coupons and formula checks, all to my formula stockpile’s delight.

When free formula ran dry, I turned to clearance formula. It became a new hobby; Every CVS, Walgreens, grocery store and superstore I felt compulsed to peruse the formula aisle for sales or final clearance on formula cans. My biggest feat was finding the large 25 oz cans of Similac on secret, unmarked clearance of $11.89. I used a $1off coupon and $5 formula check for each, and I managed to get dozens and dozens of $25 cans for $6. Seriously, a thrill!

So, even though FatHeadPup is a whole milk-chugging one-and-half year old, I get a tingle about this great printable Enfamil coupon. It’s a Bricks coupon, which means you need to download the coupon printer. But, if you click on HELP on the bottom right corner, it’ll pop up an address form to have a coupon snail mailed to you!

Snag your $5 printable coupon for any size Enfamil Premium Powder Baby Formula at the Enfamil site. The coupon may be used through Oct 9, 2009. It can be printed up to two times and may not be photocopied. But if you don’t need one, print it for a momma friend who’ll love you dearly for it!

CVS Summer Clearance

fs09070 clearance center med CVS Summer ClearanceOne great thing about CVS is its predictable post-season clearance sales. This week, CVS has lowered all its summer clearance items in-store to 90% off. Online, you’ll find items 50% off. Great deals can be found on:

  • Variety of ladies, men’s and children’s flip flops
  • CVS-brand Diggers, similar to Crocs rubber slides
  • Beach toys
  • Variety of High School Musical-branded toys
  • Flameless candles
  • Outdoor bistro patio set
  • Small handheld- and large, wheeling coolers
  •  Tiki torches
  • Infant/toddler pool floats
  • Small, outdoor camping grill
  • Outdoor chairs, original price $24.99. On sale for $2.49!

One great tip I read on Slickdeals.net–ask the manager or sales associate if they have anymore summer clearance items in the back, such as patio furniture. One smart shopper purchased a $350 large patio set for $35! It never hurts to ask. Also, visit early, and visit often. Less trafficked stores will have a better selection than high-volume stores, where you’ll likely find only bare shelves and picked over items. Finally, if you received your CVS Pharmacy coupon book for inquiring about their Readyfill service at the pharmacy counter, you can use the $4 off $20 coupon on your great summer clearance finds!

Review: Shortcuts.com

The more I think about it, the more I’d love to see Shortcuts.com become the future of coupons. I mean, think about it–paperless coupons that are loaded onto your various shopper’s cards. No more coupon organizers, no more clipping. I’d love it.

956 Review: Shortcuts.com If you’re new to Shortcuts.com, here’s a primer.

With Shortcuts.com from AOL, you register your store savings card to receive electronic coupons directly transferred to your card. You don’t have to have an AOL account to participate, and like paper coupons, Shortcuts.com coupons double according to your favorite store’s double coupon policies. Participating stores include Kroger, Tom Thumb/Randalls, Safeway, Fry’s food stores and other regional supermarket chains.

Pros: Simply select your coupons online and they’ll be automatically deducted at checkout. In some cases, you can use both a Shortcuts.com coupon and a paper coupon, although store policies may vary.

  • SO MUCH more convenient than printing coupons online, in which you have to download the coupon printer application (and if you’re a frequent FatHeadDog.com reader, you’ll know I hate printing coupons online.)
  • Shortcuts.com now offers mobile access, where you can select coupons from your cell phone and load them onto your shopper’s card on the go.
  • The site offers frequent Huggies diapers coupons for $1.50 off and other great coupons

Cons: The limit for active coupons on your card at one time is 25, and you can’t delete ones to make room for others. So, don’t add the coupons you don’t think you’ll use.

  • Shortcuts.com’s small list of participating stores still don’t cover every corner of the nation, so participation is limited by your geographic region.
  • No shopper’s card; no Shortcuts.com coupons so don’t forget that plastic little keyring card!

For us amateur photographers…

Page through a typical family photo album and you’ll notice the kids in a few repeating themes—special-occasion shots, vacation photos, and staged portraits. All cherished moments, no doubt. But why not add a little creativity into your picture taking? Here are some memories that could be just as photo-worthy.

Baby 133 300x225 For us amateur photographers...1. A big mess. Your little van Gogh has painted your white walls with chocolate pudding. Before you clean it, take a picture. And you can break out the photo when your child becomes a parent—to remind your child that no child (or parent) is perfect.

2. The first time they dress themselves. Pajama pants, one fuzzy slipper, no shirt, and earmuffs. You might not let them leave the house like that, but you have to appreciate their unique ability to accessorize. If you take a snapshot now, the “fashions” of their teens won’t look so bad.

3. Your favorite feature. The head-to-toe shot can wait for prom or graduation. Instead, zoom in and capture the one or two details you love most about your kid. Snap that swirl of hair atop your newborn, your toddler’s chunky feet, or your 7-year-old’s two missing front teeth—they won’t stay that way forever.

4. How they see the world. Go ahead, hand your child the camera for a while (under appropriate supervision, of course). You’ll be amazed at what they’ll shoot without consideration for traditional rules. Fortunately, with the beauty of digital, you can instantly delete all the bad shots and save the good ones.

5. Photos with you. If you’re always the one with the camera, you won’t be in many of the photos. Put your spouse or a friend on point-and-shoot duty and tell them to start clicking. Tell them to catch you and the kids when no one is looking at the camera or during moments that capture you as a Mom—cleaning up from dinner, reading a bedtime story, or helping with homework.
