Half-price cheesecake Friday July 30
Cheers to fake holidays! To celebrate National Cheesecake Day on Friday 7/30, The Cheesecake Factory is offering half-price slices of creamy fatty goodness. The restaurant will debut its newest flavor, Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, featuring chunks of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups baked in Original Cheesecake with layers of delicious Fudge Cake and Caramel. (Cheesecake Factory marketing folks wrote that, not me.)
If you still have unwritten thank you notes, read this
It’s just too embarrassing to write them now.
My son’s 2nd birthday was in April. Yo Gabba Gabba theme. Cupcakes, balloons, good friends and lots of great photographs. The perfect little boy birthday party that my superwoman-complex mind had dreamed of. Perfect.. save the fact that I still haven’t written my thank you notes. Has anyone seen my P’s and Q’s.. because I seem to have misplaced them.
Thank goodness, then, that Shutterfly is offering 3 FREE custom greeting cards. These make great personalized thank you cards. For even the thank you-ly lazy like me.
Here’s how to cash in your FREE prints:
- Login or register with Shutterfly
- Click on “My Shutterfly”
- Scroll down and click “Enter Special Code Offer”
- Enter code SUMMERCARDS to have the prints credited to your account
Shutterfly shipping is approximately $0.99 when you send all three cards to yourself. PLUS, new members will receive 50 FREE prints when they sign up! Free greeting card sale expires 9/1/10.
You gotta work for your hot tamales
Spin 36. The Hot Tamales Wheel of Fire instant win game lets you spin to win for a free box of Hot Tamales candy…unlimited
spins until you win. Good in theory, right? Uh, spin 51 and still no tamales.
If you lack the patience to spin a fake wheel for 100-plus spins, then go spend the 79 cents at your local CVS. Spin 62. If you’re like me, determined to win a silly instant win game, or like others, cheap, then keep spinning. And spinning. Spin 78.
Dude.. seriously? I gotta wrap up this post, but I’m still spinning. In the meantime, will someone PLEASE go buy me a box of Hot Tamales? For tamale’s sake, I’ve earned them.
Buy 8 Diet Cokes, Get 2 Free at CVS
I’m always looking for a way to support my Diet Coke habit. While we’re in the refrigerated beverage section of CVS, look for a coupon tearpad with $1/two 20-ounce Coca-Cola coupons. A few times a week, I pick up two Diet Cokes for $1.59 each and use the dollar off coupon, making them roughly $1.10 each (plus tax). With your CVS Extra Care Card, buy nine 20-ounce Coca Cola products and get your 10th free. Continuing with my entirely elementary math skills, purchase nine Cokes at $9.90 and get one free (a $1.59 value).
Then, go to MyCokeRewards.com to enter the code found under the cap for 3 points. Redeem 30 points, or 10 codes from 20-ounce bottles, for a free Coke product. You can use that coupon at CVS, which will count towards your buy 9, get 1 free. So, most awkwardly and clumsily explained, that’s how I buy 8 beloved Diet Cokes at CVS and get 2 free.
Free Crystal Light at CVS
Here’s a cool freebie. Get two FREE Crystal Light On the Go Singles at CVS (usually near the bottled water or on the cooler doors) when you use a tearpad coupon for $1/2 Crystal Light or Kool-Aid Products.
Crystal Light On the Go Singles, $0.50
$1/2 Crystal Light or Kool-Aid Products tearpad
Both FREE wyb 2 after coupon!
But here’s a FatHeadDog two-second soapbox.. don’t smash and grab with an armful of Crystal Light and coupons. Score a great deal and leave some for the next person–it’s like coupon karma.
Valuable Old Navy coupon
You can get a $5/$25 Old Navy coupon to use on your in-store purchase of perfect tees (get the stretchy kind–they last longer), denim and more when you register for Geico Privileges. The program is free and offers discounts and coupons.
Here’s how to get your coupon:
- Sign up for the FREE Geico Privileges program here.
- Login to your account
- Go to “Discounts” and then “In-store Coupons”
- Select the Old Navy coupon and print it out to take in store with you.
This offer is valid through 8/31/10. Thanks to SurvivingtheStores.com for finding the source of this coupon, which has been posted elsewhere as a jpg. (Boo.)
Also, in stores, teachers and students can show their IDs at Old Navy July 23-25th and get 25% off their entire purchase. (Yay.)
Free lettuce wraps
More free food! P.F. Chang’s is offering free lettuce wraps when you click here with your email address. You’ll receive a coupon for complimentary lettuce wraps with entree purchase (offer expires 7/31/10). While you’re there, you can sign up for the free Warrior Card, which gives you 10% off your entire bill.
I got my daisy dukes on…

I’m a sucker. The minute those Huggies Little Mover Denim Diapers came out, I made a beeline for CVS. Yes I paid full price. Yes I made my son wear them. And yes, I love my little boy in them.
Now Pampers has followed suit with their own designer diapers from Cynthia Rowley. They’re available exclusively and for a limited time at Target and Target.com.
While we’re talking about Huggies and Pampers, here’s a tip I ran across on deals4dummies.com: PullUps package codes can be used twice–Once on www.Enjoytheriderwewards.com and also again on game.dothepottydance.com. Now who’s got their daisy dukes on? My kid, that’s who.
Get Free Panda!
Use this Panda Express coupon for a FREE Thai Cashew Chicken on July 14. What? You thought someone was handing out free pandas? Now that’s just silly.
An instant win game you might actually win
FatHeadDog has lousy luck at online instant win games. Huggies Enjoy the Rewards? Nope. Kroger Summer Win game? Not a chance.
But the Sobe Heads or Tails instant win game paid off for me on my first try. Click here to play the game daily–get a free entry every day until Sept. 14. From the home page, just click No for the question “Have one of these?” and it’ll direct you to the instant win game. More often than not, you’ll snag a buy one get one free coupon. Be sure to disable your pop-ups and have your printer ready when you play.
The Married Man’s Myth of Victoria’s Secret
Ask any married man. Being dragged into Victoria’s Secret by your window-shopping wife just isn’t as sexy as it sounds. Why? Because more often than not, she won’t be walking out with a lacy little black thing, but instead, beige colored briefs.
So make a break for GameStop when she pulls out this Victoria’s Secret coupon for a free Beauty Rush lip gloss with any in-store purchase. Limit one free lip gloss per customer. Valid through July 21st.
Social calling cards 2.0
Just like calling cards of days past, the new brand of social calling cards are smart, distinctive and a great way to set yourself apart from the crowd. As a mommy blogger (but you’ll never catch me calling myself that.. oh, wait..), social calling cards are a great way to share my site with family and friends who can’t seem to make FatHeadDog.com a household name. I don’t understand why..
Great uses for Calling Cards and how to order a set free:
- Social networking: Instead of handing over your business card, a personal calling card is a less stuffy way of sharing your vital information and pass along your personal email and phone number. Jobs change but your personal email stays with you and personal calling cards are the perfect solution for that. Continue reading
Pound for Pound food bank challenge
Here’s a chance to eat healthy, win free groceries and help the nationwide initiative Pound for Pound Challenge. MyBlogSpark, the General Mills blogging program, invited FatHeadDog.com to participate in the Pound for Pound Challenge. Cool premise: For every pound participants pledged to lose through the Pound For Pound Challenge, the sponsors donated 14 cents to Feeding America- enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a food bank in your area. While they are no longer accepting pledges, you can still help by making a donation directly to Feeding America. I encourage you to check out the site; there’s lot of great information to inspire your healthier eating today.
Kroger wants to help one of my readers save a bit of money while stocking up on healthy food items. Time for a giveaway! Continue reading
